Pierre PICHAVANT started building small sailing boats in 1946, then sail cruisers in 1960. The shipyard worked for Eugène CORNU, SPARKMAN & STEPHENS (Stiren, 1959), John ILLINGWORTH (Gerfaut, 1979), Pierre LEMAIRE (La Moqueuse), Georges AUZEPY BRENNEUR (Faiaway, 1970), François SERGENT (Iphigénie, 1974). After 1976 his nephew Jacques PICHAVANT took over and continue building celebrated cruisers or racers, with Ron HOLLAND, Britton CHANCE, Xavier JOUBERT, and others. Today, the renovated shipyard continues building yachts under the direction of Sébastien LE BARS.
